The Backyard Sports Cares Special Needs program starts its 7th year at Purchase College. The program, aimed at 5-15 year olds, is one of Westchester’s most successful special need recreation programs. The program is staffed by an excellent group of volunteer high school and college athletes, as well as teachers and coaches from around the area. The staff provides a 1:1 ratio teaching ratio for all of the participants. Every participant will enjoy safe and satisfying instruction in basketball, football, and tennis during the fall. The program continues during the winter with indoor soccer, and in the spring, with baseball. The 11 and older age group starts Sunday, September 15th, at 10 am and runs for 45 minutes. The second session, for all ages, begins at 11 am and also runs for 45 minutes. We hope you can make it for our fall kickoff this Sunday!
