Backyard Sports is proud to announce significant coaching acheivements by our staff this past winter:
Nesta Felix, Backyard Sports coach and board member, led her Keio Academy of New York Volleyball Team to the sectional championship tournament. Nesta’s tireless positive attitude and energy has quickly turned around Keio’s volleyball program. Her ability to mold young athletes into productive members both on and off the court is a unique strength.
Backyard Sports basketball coach, Steve Loscher, led his #1 ranked Keio Academy of New York Girls Basketball Program to the sectional championship game at the county center in White Plains, NY. His team recorded the most wins in school history. In short order, Steve’s professionalism and passion has put his basketball program on the map in Westchester County!
Michael Tomassi, Backyard Sports basketball coach, made section 1 boys history by defeating powerhouse, Mount Vernon. Coach Tomassi’s Fox Lane Foxes won the AA Boys Basketball Sectional Title and advanced deep into the New York State Championship Tournament. His 2015-16 team will go down in school history as the most successful team ever. Michael’s calm and steady approach helped the Foxes achieve this historic run.
Our Backyard Sports staff continues to move the sports’ needle in a positive direction, not only in the Backyard Sports world, but in the high school educational arena. These three professional and caring leaders once again prove that the process is the important component of an athlete and team’s sports journey.
