Observations from Week #1
I was pleased with the attitude and effort with all of our teams. Sharing the ball on offense is key in basketball. Teams throughout the day were passing to open teammates. One area that needs improvement is defensive communication. At times, defenders were not sure who they were guarding. Offensive screening was limited in our Week #1 games. In our upcoming prep session on September 30, we will be focusing on the concept, “screeners score.” Overall it was a good first week of games. Our coaching staff is looking forward to working with all of you watching the teams and individual play progress.
